In the face of technological advancements and environmental challenges, my work explores the complex connection between humanity and the natural world. I have spent the last decade exploring the southeast coast, documenting the turbulence caused by climate change. I recently traveled to the pacific northwest to explore the coastal environs at the opposite end of the continent. Through emersion in both coasts, I create a theoretical space that negotiates temporal and spatial conditions. I use a wide range of techniques, merging traditional mediums with digital elements, eliciting both timelessness and immediacy. The landscapes I create are physical spaces and synthetic narratives that reflect the evolving relationship between humanity and the environment in the Anthropocene era. I am interested in spatial and temporal strategies that coalesce to form new possibilities for creative exploration and experience. This fusion allows me to convey the tension between the ancient, enduring beauty of nature and the ever-changing, often turbulent, forces that shape our world. Through my work I explore the ways in which representations of “landscape” serve as a mirror to our collective consciousness.
